A record breaking turnout at the first Summer Sizzler event of the summer. Event one was hosted by Blue Chip and was run on the river Thames at Kingston. Near perfect racing conditions allowed for two mid distance races to be completed as well as a round of fun sprints.
Stand out Bay SUP results include:

Paul Clarke 14ft stock 3rd
Shaun Taylor 12′ 6″ft race (Veterans) 1st
Mark Slater 12′ 6″ft race 1st

Thursday May 26th 2 – 3pm Tai Chi on the Beach – Outside Surf Steps Surf school – normal venue 300m to right of Boscombe pier
Thursday June 2nd 1.30 – 2.30pm Tai Chi in the Park – Paradise Gardens in the upper Bornemouth Gardens

In what is hoped to become an annual event, a free one day festival taking place on Sunday May 1st will be the first of its kind for Boscombe.
Local businesses, organisations and local groups through the Boscombe Area Regeneration Group (BARG) are uniting to present ‘The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’, an Alice in Wonderland themed event where dress up is encouraged combining: arts, food, music and entertainment for all ages and showcasing Boscombe’s talent.
Working with the Dorset Music Forum, it’s led by BARG and supported by the Council’s Boscombe Regeneration Partnership.
The Festival is set to take place in four areas of Boscombe: The Chine Gardens; The Crescent; The High Street; and the Seafront. Some of the many activities include: Boscombe Vintage Market on the Crescent; live music, acts and street performances in all areas and led by various artists; a walk of art; family entertainment to include magicians, circus skills workshops; and prizes donated by local businesses. The beach party, sponsored by Sorted Surf and Urban Reef will showcase: a BBQ, live music, free surf lessons, O’Neil giveaways, activities from SurfX and a competition for young surfers from across the south coast with a best performance shield donated by Boscombe Traders.
As an added bonus, the Land Train will be running up Sea Road and down through the Chine Gardens allowing you to take the strain off your feet, sit back and be entertained.
“This will be the most amazing event ever to hit the streets of Boscombe: it’s our way of showing thanks for the support of the council and the constant enthusiasm of local people for their custom throughout the years. I am hoping any potential business’s considering opening in Boscombe will see just how fabulous this place and the people are. Cafes are set to have a roaring trade with stages outside with live music and magicians showing off their skills as people sip their coffees and cold drinks) while being entertained by mad Hatter Tea Parties and spontaneous singing choirs and dancers”.-Angus Reid, on behalf of the Boscombe Traders and BARG

Our Yoga on the Beach starts back from the first week in May
At present the schedule is as follows:
Early morning Yoga 7 – 8am Tues & Fri
Daytime Yoga 1.30 – 2.30pm Tues & Thurs
Evening Yoga 6 – 7pm Tues & Wed
Prices held for another year at just £5!!!
Mats provided, same spot – outside Surf Steps Surf School
So it’s time to treat ourselves to some fresh sea air, under wide blue skies, beside the vast energy of the ocean, basking in the spring sunshine.
Maybe catch a sun rise or sun set. Stretching, awakening and opening our bodies, letting our spirits fly high and free like the seagulls flying high in the blue sky.
It has been a long wait.

We get many people asking what our legendary friend and work colleague Samson is up to these days, so about time we let you know!
He’s returned with his lovely wife Alison to his surf rich tropical home ground of Fort Dauphin in South East Madagascar.
